DiBenedetto is devoted to writing books with a sense of mysticism to
entertain and perhaps invite his readers to suspend belief in a way
they might never have.

he was very young , he has always been intrigued with the
supernatural and things that can't be explained rationally.

always asking way too many questions, it piqued his interest to the
point of setting his writing off and running when he grew up! All the
curiosity building up all those years were finally getting put into

share all the stories he has inside, putting pen to paper. And that's
how the Dream Series was born.

Excerpt, Chapter 6

Sometime later, as I'm deeply engrossed in my work, I'm startled by a voice behind me. "You sing beautifully, Chérie." I spin around, thoroughly surprised to see Damien there. "I am sorry I startled you. Shawn let me in."
I wave away his apology. "Oh, no, it's okay."
"I did not know you spoke Spanish," he says, leaning against the door jamb.
"Yeah, my mom's from Mexico. She taught me."
"It is a beautiful language. I am taking Spanish for my foreign language requirement."
"It should be pretty easy for you with the languages you already know. From what I've learned in French class, the two have some similarities, and Spanish is definitely the easier of the two languages."
"Some small ones, I suppose, but it is more difficult than you would think."
"Oh, pobre Damien. Tienes dificultades con el español?" I tease him.
"Et toi, Elysabeth," he asks with a grin, "avec ton Français?"
"Mieux que ton espagnol, je pense."
He holds his hands up in a gesture of surrender. "You win, Chérie, you win. Now, I believe we are here to do homework."
"You are quite right," I say, adopting a lofty tone. "It was rude to interrupt me in such a manner." My grin removes the sting from the words.
Damien offers me a formal court bow. "Forgive me, dearest. How may I ever remedy such a grave injustice?"
Smiling, I indulge in our silly behavior. "I believe a declaration of your undying affections and a heartfelt apology would be sufficient."
He steps forward and drops to his knees at my feet then takes my hands in his, as though begging for his life. "Ah, my Elysabeth, you know I love you more than life itself. For you I would travel to the ends of the world. I would pluck out mine own heart, if it would see you happy. Forgive my dreadful injustice against you. Simply tell me how to appease you."
Feeling somewhat self-conscious at the seriousness of his tone, I give him a little shove. "Enough, enough!" I'm laughing, trying to keep the situation lighthearted. "You have my forgiveness." I stand to head downstairs. "I'm going to get a —"
Damien pulls me back to face him, showing me the raw emotion in his eyes. He pulls me close and I feel trapped by his gaze. "I do care for you greatly, Elysabeth. Truly." His voice is soft.
Give in.
The voice is stronger than usual, but I attribute it to my growing desire for the man holding me. I do as it suggests, closing my eyes and tilting my head in the universal invitation. His lips meet mine softly, but the kiss conveys a strength of emotion that surprises me. His kiss is telling me the story of his emotional attachment. I'm surprised by the depth of feeling considering how short a time we've been together.
It's everything I've ever imagined a perfect first kiss being, despite it not being our first. It's soft, slow, sensual, and heartfelt. He pulls back, seeking my approval. A small grin is all he needs. With a sigh he pulls me to him tightly, crushing my lips with his. It's a repeat of that afternoon at the marketplace, but I have no desire to stop this time.
He backs me to my bed, pushing me down, and covering my body with his. My hands roam his back, as his travel up my sides. I wrap my legs around his, pulling him closer, and grinding against him, eliciting a groan.
"Elysabeth, you drive me wild!" I kiss my way down his neck, stopping at the sensitive juncture to his shoulders and bite down lightly. His guttural groan of pleasure leads me to bite again, slightly harder.
He pulls away from me and leans down to my neck, running his lips along the curve from ear to shoulder. I suddenly feel something sharp, like he has fangs! "Mmm, yes, bite me, Damien!"
He pulls away from me suddenly, and I realize what I've just said. I can feel myself turning crimson. "What did you say, Elysabeth?" he asks guardedly.

Thankfully, I don't have to answer. A knock at the door has us flying further apart than we already are.

Love of Finished Years by Gregory Erich Phillips #historical #fiction #literary

Love of Finished Years Tour Graphic
Award-winning author Gregory Erich Phillips
Love of Finished Years

As soon as the girls entered, Beth’s mother bounded forward from the back of the flat.
“Oh, oh, I’m so glad.” She clapped her hands, and then hugged her guest.
Elsa wasn’t used to being hugged—she would have pulled away but the woman’s embrace was swift and enveloping.
“I’m Josephine. Now you sit down right there so we can get started. The sooner we send you home the better it will be.”
She directed Elsa toward a chair at a small table. Josephine pulled up another chair beside her. Beth sat on the floor.
It was a small room, made to seem smaller by all the pictures on the walls and little keepsakes on counters and shelves. One or two pictures might have been of family, and there were several images of Jesus. But most of the pictures looked like they had been cut out of a magazine or catalogue only because they were pretty. It gave the room lighthearted warmth that put Elsa at ease.
She couldn’t understand how Beth’s mother had seemed to know she was coming. She hadn’t told Beth her dilemma until that morning. It dawned on her how much she had already revealed of her family’s situation to her friend.
Josephine laid a Bible open in front of Elsa. She set a piece of paper beside it. On the paper she wrote the vowels and made Elsa say them, then showed her where the letters fit within the titles of the Bible books. They started with the prophets: AMOS, EZEKIEL, ISAIAH, and OBADIAH were the first Bible books Elsa learned to recognize. She remembered hearing about Isaiah in church but hadn’t heard of the other ones.
“We don’t have a Bible book that starts with the last vowel,” Josephine explained. “But there is a very important place in the Bible that starts with the letter U. It was called UR.” She wrote it on the page, using, as she had thus far, only capital letters. “There was a man who lived there named ABRAHAM.
As she wrote the new name, Elsa excitedly pointed back at AMOS.
“Yes,” Josephine said. “And look. Abraham has the letter A in his name three times.”
With that, she began to explain how the letters connected with one another in the words.
By the time Elsa left, her head was full of stories: Abraham’s journey to a new land, the prophets and their adventures, and many more. She promised to come back every day after work.
It was very late when she returned to her tenement. The building was dark. She was exhausted and hungry after her long walk but didn’t expect any dinner. Josephine had offered her food, but she had been taught not to accept charity.
The apartment was quiet when she entered. Her father slept, and Sonja pretended to sleep. But Nina was waiting up for her.
Elsa endured the belt in silence. It didn’t anger her. She had been rebellious and deserved it; it was her mother’s right to punish her. What angered her was that her father didn’t even seem to notice her absence. Her mother cared—and was worried. That was why she punished her.
Elsa’s heart went out to her mother as she took her whipping. How hard it would be to feel she was losing control over her life after working so hard for a stable family. Elsa was just beginning to work toward her own dreams.
She stumbled into bed, exhausted and in pain, but happy. The throbbing of her back paled in comparison with the thrill of her new knowledge and the hope of new opportunities.
Once their mother was in bed in the second room, Sonja pulled out a piece of bread she had hidden under the blanket and handed it to Elsa. She accepted it gratefully. After biting off each piece, she held it in her mouth to soften it so her mother wouldn’t hear her chewing. It was enough to sustain her into the next day.
The next two nights progressed exactly the same way. Elsa came home late, endured a whipping, and supped on whatever morsel Sonja had managed to hide for her. On the fourth night the whippings ceased. By the next week, a cold meal began to appear for her, and she knew she had succeeded.

Watching You - Hollywood Heat by Leslie A. Kelly #romance #suspense

Watching You
Leslie A. Kelly
(Hollywood Heat #1)
Published by: Forever Yours
Publication date: March 13th 2018
Genres: Adult, Romance, Suspense
In the first book of a thrilling new romantic suspense trilogy, USA Today bestselling author Leslie A. Kelly shows just how hot – and how dangerous – Hollywood can be.
In the shadows, someone is always watching

Aspiring screenwriter Jessica Jensen grew up on movies starring heartthrob Reece Winchester, the eldest brother of a Hollywood dynasty. She never thought she’d meet the man in person, though. Actor, director, millionaire, and gorgeous mystery man-he’s every woman’s fantasy.
Reece wants Jessica the moment he sees her, and he’s a man who always gets what he wants. At first he was only after a night in her bed, but as he comes to know the smart, confident woman beneath the stunning exterior, he realizes once will never be enough.
Unfortunately, Jessica’s real-life Cinderella story is about to take a deadly turn…
Reece’s world is filled with fierce ambition and dark family secrets the Winchesters desperately want to hide. But he and his brothers aren’t the only ones who know those secrets. Someone else is out there, waiting to strike. Waiting-and always watching.
When danger finally steps out of the shadows, Reece will have to face his past. And Jessica will have to decide just how far she can trust the man she loves with her heart…and her life.

Jess was so lost in thought about Reece the superstar she forgot the man was in the room, and that she’d imagined he was staring at her. Which was perhaps why she nearly dropped her glass when she felt a tall, solid form move behind her and heard a man say, “Interesting.”
Smooth voice. Deep, silky. A voice she recognized. She’d heard it on the big screen and the small one, since she had copies of every movie he’d starred in—seven from his childhood years, eight from his adult ones. Was he really talking to her?
“Yes, it is,” she murmured, all calm and collected, like she was not shaking in her consignment store shoes.
“Possibly one of the artist’s earlier efforts.”
Hmm. How had he known? “Yes,” Miss Conversational Genius repeated.
“I’m not interrupting, am I?”
The hint of confidence in the tone told her he knew the answer. Had any woman ever told him to go away because he was bothering her? Huh. Doubtful. “Not at all.”
“Good. What is it called?”
“What we’re doing? I think it’s a conversation.” Jess didn’t know where the snarky response came from, or where she’d gotten the nerve to be all quippy with the guy, but there you go. That was her, always a mouth-off away from catastrophe.
“I meant the sculpture,” he said. No laugh. No humor. Crap.
Realizing they were actually going to have a conversation, and knowing it might require face-to-face interaction, she wondered if she was ready for it. Hesitating, she licked her lips and replied, “It’s called Naked Man.”
Knowing it was rude not to face him, she took a deep breath and glanced over her shoulder. Lord have mercy.
Deep breaths might be calming in normal situations—like when one was confronted by a repo man repossessing a car. Been there, done that. But they didn’t work at all when looking into the clear amber eyes of a man every woman on the planet fantasized about. His looks made you silently gawk while you tried to figure out why the arrangement of cheek and jaw, mouth and eyes, was so arresting and unforgettable. She interacted with scruffy, shaggy-haired surf-bum types in the bar where she worked, so she’d almost forgotten how appealing a conservative haircut and a smoothly shaven face could be. Not to mention the sexiness of a perfectly tailored power suit, the charcoal color interrupted only by a splash of red in the necktie.
She finally cleared her throat and pushed a few words out. “It is from very early in the artist’s career. How did you know?”
“She draped the sex organs, as if she wasn’t quite ready to go there.”
Jess nodded, wondering if she was truly talking about men’s packages with the sexiest freaking man alive. Was this really happening, or was she hallucinating? Had that stupid bartender slipped GHB in her drink? Damn, if she woke up tomorrow with no memory of what happened, and then found videos of herself on YouTube, she would rip him a new one.

“That’s the problem with prevarication.”
“Prevarication? When did I ever lie to ye?”
“When ye fluttered yer lashes and begged me not to tell yer father.”
“It works for the other lasses, why not me? They get whatever they want. All the lads begging at their feet, telling them how beautiful they are—” She averted her gaze. “—and they’re not so very beautiful.”
Darragh managed to subdue his grin.
When she finally turned back, her expression had softened. “I do not normally prevaricate.”
He crossed his arms about his chest. “If ye say so.”
“I do say so. Ugh!” She blew an irritated breath. “I canna convince ye when ye won’t believe what I say.”
Brighit’s nose flared in irritation just before she shook her head in a most defeated way. The idea came to him in a flash, and Darragh smiled at his own thought before sharing it.
“A kiss. A kiss will convince me.” He half expected her to slap his face for even suggesting such a thing.
Only she didn’t. Her eyes widened, and she glanced at his lips before wetting her own. She was excited by the idea. Could it be she’d never been kissed before? He’d bet his favorite horse she had not, not with Sean as her father.
“Ye are willing then?” Her look told him she was not only willing but eager. With the slightest movement, he slipped his hands beneath the mantle to graze his open palms up her arms until they rested on her shoulders. Her lips glistened and the vein in her neck throbbed. With a low voice, he asked, “Would ye seal our agreement with a kiss?”
The sharpest tip of her head, barely a nod at all, but Darragh would not quibble. He slid a hand from beneath the heavy material to tunnel it under her thick, silky hair and cup her neck, the skin there still cool from her swim.
She leaned in, meeting him halfway. His mouth slanted across hers, a gentle caress, before he slipped his tongue between her parted lips. She gave as good as she got, deepening the kiss to where he was no longer certain who was doing the kissing. He was glad he hadn’t wagered his horse on her inexperience, though mayhap she was simply an extremely fast learner.
Without warning, she released him and backed out of his hold, wiping the back of her hand over her mouth. Her heaving chest matched his own.
He reached for her. “Brighit, I—”
She raised a hand, shaking her head, and put more distance between them. It was a long time before she spoke again. “We will wait the fortnight.”

With five children to chase, she is never at a loss for someone to kiss, something to cook or some mess to clean but she loves every moment of it! Life is full—of blessings and adventure! Needless to say she’s a big fan of coffee and wine…and living in Washington she’s within walking distance of both! Follow her on Facebook ( And Instagram @kristinkatjoyce and Twitter @KristinVayden!
